What is a Non-IB visa and how does it differ from a Non-B?
The Non-IB is the business/investment visa used by BOI-promoted companies. The company first obtains BOI position approval, then the visa and work permit are processed at the one-stop service centre — faster than the ordinary Non-B route through the Department of Employment. Both allow year-by-year extensions as endorsed by the authority.
The Non-IB (Investment and Business) visa covers people investing in or working for a company holding a BOI promotion certificate. What distinguishes it from an ordinary Non-B is the BOI processing channel, which is faster and usually lets the visa and work permit be completed together at the one-stop service centre. The employing company must first obtain BOI position approval; the applicant then files at a Thai mission abroad, or changes visa category inside Thailand where that applies. The conditions and period granted follow the rights attached to the company's promotion certificate.
