Who qualifies for Thailand's 10-year Non-O-X visa and what funds are needed?
Applicants must be 50 or older and hold a nationality on Thailand's designated list. The usual financial test is about THB 3 million deposited in a Thai bank account, or THB 1.8 million on deposit together with annual income of roughly THB 1.2 million, plus health insurance, a medical certificate and a police clearance. The Non-O-X grants an initial five-year stay extendable by a further five, up to ten years in total. It is open only to nationals of the countries Thailand designates — broadly Western Europe, Japan, Australia, Canada and the United States — and applicants must be at least 50 years old. Its financial bar is markedly higher than the Non-O-A because it is built for retirees who intend to settle. Holders may not work in Thailand and still owe 90-day reports like other temporary residents.
