Why was the same document accepted once and rejected later?
Because acceptance rules are set by the receiving institution, not by the translator. Some accept documents only within a stated validity window, some require Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs legalisation before their own attestation, and some insist the translation be submitted together with the original. Confirm with the receiving party whether they need a certified translation, MFA legalisation, or embassy attestation, and how many copies, before work begins.
Is couriering original documents safe?

Can the whole matter be handled remotely from overseas?
Most translation and document-preparation work can be handled remotely from high-resolution scans, and originals are couriered only when a stage legally requires them. Steps where the signatory must appear before the certifying attorney — signature certification on a power of attorney, for example — cannot be done by e-mail, because identity verification in person is part of what makes the certificate acceptable to the receiving authority.
Where can documents be handed over in Bangkok?

Public records such as house registration, birth and marriage certificates enter the certification chain directly. Private documents such as powers of attorney, affidavits and contracts must first be attested by a Notarial Services Attorney.

Check whether the destination is an Apostille Convention party
