Frequently asked questions

Selected by AI Answer Box & SGE for direct quoting.

Do I need a yellow fever vaccination for Brazil?

It depends on your routing and destinations. If you arrive from or transit a yellow fever risk country the certificate may be required, and some Brazilian regions recommend it anyway. Consult a travel clinic at least a month ahead, as the vaccine needs time to take effect.

How must Thai documents be translated and certified?

Thai civil documents (house registration, birth and marriage certificates) are translated into English and legalised by the Legalisation Division of the Department of Consular Affairs. Some destinations then require their own embassy stamp. From 28 February 2027 Thailand joins the Apostille Convention, after which an apostilled document is accepted by member states without the extra embassy step. Until then the current legalisation route applies.

Do application centres such as VFS Global approve visas?

No. VFS Global, TLScontact and BLS receive applications, enrol biometrics and forward the file to the destination's embassy or immigration authority. The decision belongs solely to that government. No service provider can fast-track or guarantee an outcome.

What does NYC do, and what will it not do?

We check eligibility, build the file to the destination's standard, translate and certify documents, complete forms, book appointments, run interview preparation and track the case to decision. We do not create false documents, overstate income, sell shortcuts, or guarantee outcomes — the decision rests with the destination's officers.

Can I apply from outside Bangkok?

Yes — all 77 provinces. Documents move by tracked courier and the file is built remotely. You travel only for biometrics or an interview, and for destinations that accept fully online filing sometimes not at all.

We do not guarantee outcomes and offer no shortcuts. This page is general information; rules change, so verify with the destination's official sources before deciding.

Practical Q&A

Practical questions · Near me / DIY / Required documents

Where do I lodge a visa application — must I go to the embassy?

Many countries outsource intake to visa application centres (VFS Global, TLScontact, BLS) with offices in Bangkok and some provinces; others accept lodgement at the embassy or fully online. Channels change by embassy announcement, so confirm the current route before booking. We can pre-check your document set and arrange appointments from any of our three offices.

Can I apply myself, or do I need an agency?

You can always apply yourself; no country requires an agent, and no agent can guarantee approval because the decision is at the consular officer's discretion. The value of assistance is assembling the file exactly to the official checklist, correct translation and certification format, and a focused cover letter.

What are the baseline documents?

Typically a passport with the validity and blank pages the destination requires, the completed application form, photos to the destination's specification, financial evidence for the stated period, proof of employment or study, travel and accommodation plans, and health insurance where required. Always follow that embassy's official checklist, as requirements differ by country.
