The decision system used here

• US: INA section 214(b) presumes immigrant intent; the applicant carries the burden of rebutting it.
• The US uses one DS-160 per traveller and an interview at the Bangkok embassy or the Chiang Mai consulate.
• Canada is filed through an IRCC account with biometrics, and a medical exam may be requested for stays over six months.
• Mexico waives the visa for many holders of a valid US visa; Brazil, Chile and Argentina run their own e-visa or consular routes.
• A 214(b) refusal cannot be appealed, but you may reapply when circumstances genuinely change.

1. 1DS-160 confirmation page with barcode and the interview appointment letter.
2. 2Employment proof: letter, payslips, or business registration for owners.
3. 3Ties evidence: title deeds, lease, house registration, marriage certificate, children's birth certificates.

Where applications usually fail

• Interview answers that differ from the DS-160, even on small points such as employer name or who pays.
• No evidence of who funds the trip when a sponsor is declared.
• A prior overstay anywhere, presented without explanation or supporting documents.
• Canada: an incomplete upload against the system-generated document checklist, which closes the file.
• Using someone else's financial documents without proof of relationship and a support letter.
